Mighty God,
everything you do reveals your glory and majesty.
Open our eyes to see what you are doing in our lives.
Let us marvel at your good gifts and your wise provision.
Your acts are amazing Lord.
We cannot comprehend the number of blessings you pour out on us from day to day.
As we come into your presence today, seeking your will for our lives,
we pray that you would fill our hearts, our minds and our souls.
Transform us Lord, and make us more like you.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
Amen.
Giving
Thank you for all your support of Wrington Chapel and its work in the past.
We realise that many people are hard-pressed at the moment, and church may be the last thing on your mind. However, we are looking to the future when we can reopen and support each other in our usual way. Unfortunately, being closed does not mean our expenses are substantially less. If you already have a standing order set up, then thank you. But if you haven't, please consider getting in touch with Steve Osman and setting one up. If that is impossible, please continue to save up your collection money, and we will collect it all together when we reopen. Please note that the rules do not allow us to claim any Gift Aid on collections that are not taken up in church. So do NOT drop collection money off at Steve's house. Simply take out a standing order, or save it up for that great and glorious reopening day.

Threads of your loving, healing purpose Interlacing their sorrow with strength.

We pray for our minister and elders as they continue to guide us through this strange time. Support them as they explore opening the chapel for worship in August.
Give them wisdom to know how and when to proceed safely.
We pray for those in our fellowship who need to feel your presence right now because they are sick in mind, body or spirit.
Because they are feeling the burdens of old age
Because they are feeling anxious or alone
Because they are bereaved
Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted
For all those in hospital, in fear, in pain Lord Jesus we pray,
surround the frightened with your tenderness;
give strength to those in pain;
hold the weak in your arms of love and give hope and
patience to those who are recovering.
Our prayer focus this week is Tearfund.
Please continue to remember them in your prayers as they work with some of the most vulnerable around the world.
Today we are having communion. You may want to get some bread and a drink.
TITLE: David 4 - Naked Before God
Today we continue to look at the life of David. It's a turbulent time, where we see the responses of both Saul and Jonathan to David. We see anger and hatred, and look at how both God and us deal with that. How should we act when we may feel envy or pride? How do we stop that becoming part of us?

1st Samuel 19 verses 11 to 24
11 Saul sent men to David's house to watch it and to kill him in the morning. But Michal, David's wife, warned him, "If you don't run for your life tonight, tomorrow you'll be killed." 12 So Michal let David down through a window, and he fled and escaped. 13 Then Michal took an idol and laid it on the bed, covering it with a garment and putting some goats' hair at the head.
14 When Saul sent the men to capture David, Michal said, "He is ill."
15 Then Saul sent the men back to see David and told them, "Bring him up to me in his bed so that I may kill him." 16 But when the men entered, there was the idol in the bed, and at the head was some goats' hair.
17 Saul said to Michal, "Why did you deceive me like this and send my enemy away so that he escaped?"
Michal told him, "He said to me, 'Let me get away. Why should I kill you?'"
18 When David had fled and made his escape, he went to Samuel at Ramah and told him all that Saul had done to him. Then he and Samuel went to Naioth and stayed there. 19 Word came to Saul: "David is in Naioth at Ramah"; 20 so he sent men to capture him. But when they saw a group of prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing there as their leader, the Spirit of God came on Saul's men, and they also prophesied. 21 Saul was told about it, and he sent more men, and they prophesied too. Saul sent men a third time, and they also prophesied. 22 Finally, he himself left for Ramah and went to the great cistern at Seku. And he asked, "Where are Samuel and David?"
"Over in Naioth at Ramah," they said.
23 So Saul went to Naioth at Ramah. But the Spirit of God came even on him, and he walked along prophesying until he came to Naioth. 24 He stripped off his garments, and he too prophesied in Samuel's presence. He lay naked all that day and all that night. This is why people say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"
And we include the words of the following song, as a prayer:
'Within the veil I now would come, into the holy place to look upon thy face. I see such beauty there, no other can compare. I worship thee, my Lord, within the veil. Amen'
